What You Can Find Here

This blog contains sentiments from a very sentimental person. Please bear with his sentimentality.

"There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice." - Albert Einstein

About Those Tickets: Short Blog Entry

In about three days’ time, the anticipated Intramurals will finally arrive. One of the events held here is the Search for Miss Intramurals, where, as I assume you have already guessed, several ladies compete in a battle of beauty and brains to bring home the crown. To boost a candidate’s popularity or profit, tickets are being sold. So why am I making a fuss over a harmless ticket? Well, I really don’t have anything against them, unless they’re being sold in exchange for grades.

Yes, I repeat; some tickets are being sold in exchange for grades, particularly in the project grade in our school. Couldn’t they get any worse, to the point that they’re actually offering someone to have their grades manipulated (there’s no fairness there, hence the word) just to support the candidates they’re rooting for?

Although I express extreme disapproval to this unjust practice; I mean, not all are rich, and it is said that the more tickets you buy, the higher your project grade will rise, this gave me a good laugh nevertheless; most of our “well-respected” classmates bought a couple of tickets, for obvious intentions. I’m deeply impressed by your abilities to further degrade my respect for you, whoever you are.

While I admit that I’m pretty lazy, and I’m not saintly at school, at least I know how to be fair, and I know I’m not the type of guy who can be bribed to have an edge. You might say that I’m exaggerating things, but this is a manifestation that even in the small units of society, corruption is still noticeable, as demonstrated by my “well-respected” classmates. If bribery is manifested already at school, what will become of our government, which will be led in due course by us, the young?
